Identify the creature and its mechanics
In Mielon’s mod, Singer and Echo Golem connect to Soul Blocks, Blub can be tamed, and Sifter and Dark Sniffer are hostile encounters. The sections below describe the author’s current implementation. Official Dungeons II appearances are identified separately.
| Creature | Mielon interaction | Useful next step |
|---|---|---|
| Singer | Portal activation; Soul Block interaction and 1.1.0 bartering | Singer |
| Echo Golem | Collects Soul Blocks; bonds with Echo Shard | Echo Golem |
| Blub | Soul Block taming; follows, sits, defends | Blub guide |
| Sifter | Fast predator; groups of up to five | Sifter |
| Dark Sniffer | Sculk transformation and Sonic Sniff | Dark Sniffer |
Singer: entrance and resource interaction
At the Ancient City, the Singer awakens Sonorous Deepslate after the Goat Horn step. Follow the portal song for the full activation order.
Singers receive Soul Blocks brought by Echo Golems. The 1.1.0 release adds bartering with Soul Blocks and a rare Wellspring music disc obtainable from the Singer. That is a disc name, distinct from the separate Wellspring mod.
Echo Golem: redirect Soul Block deliveries
Echo Golems search Soul Canyons and carry Soul Blocks to the surface. Use an Echo Shard to bond one permanently; it then delivers to you instead of a Singer. The 1.1.0 changelog says an Echo Golem always spawns near a Soul Canyon.
For a resource outing, that gives you a concrete preparation item and destination. The beginner guide connects this interaction with the return trip.
Sifter: fast, sometimes grouped
The author describes Sifters across The Sift, especially Overgrown Forests. They can spawn alone or in groups of up to five, and drop Raw Sifter Meat.
In 1.1.0 they spawn only on the dimension’s natural terrain blocks. The changelog explicitly includes ordinary Siftslate as usable spawning ground. When planning a building area, check the ground material; a roof alone is not the rule described by the author.
Dark Sniffer: transformation and pull attack
A Sniffer digging into Sculk can become infected and transform after 30 seconds. Dark Sniffers are hostile, dig up Sculkflower Seeds, and use Sonic Sniff to pull distant targets toward them.
The author also says Wardens do not attack them; a fully calm Warden may approach and pet one. That interaction does not make a Dark Sniffer harmless to the player.
Official Dungeons II appearances
The official Capes & Promos article identifies Blub as a Deluxe pet. The Deluxe Upgrade page identifies a Singer in a screenshot, and the launch article labels Sifters in an image. Those appearances do not transfer the mod mechanics above into the official game.
Source and version
Mod behavior follows Mielon’s author description, checked September 30, 2026, with explicit changes from 1.1.0 release notes. For the resource uses, continue to blocks and items.
