Follow the Singer’s role in your game
The Singer connects music, Echo Golems, and the Sift entrance, with different interactions in Dungeons II lore and Mielon’s mod. The publisher’s Deluxe Upgrade page identifies a Singer in its imagery.
Meet the Singer at the Sift entrance
The Singer’s Meadow record places the Singer and Echo Golems outside the Deep Dark portal in Dungeons II’s first Sift area. That scene connects the character to the transition into the dimension. The opening exploration objective is The Illagers from the Rift: Explore the new dimension, and entering the meadow introduces the Sift tides tutorial.
For a player arriving through the portal, the immediate task is to follow that exploration objective. For someone identifying a scene, the portal, the Singer, and the accompanying golems are useful together. Tuners appear around the Singer in a later cutscene after saving the meadow, so the small creatures in that scene have their own name and carry interaction.
Song and the Echo Golems in the novel
The Singer record identifies a passive creature and attributes song-only communication, Warden pacification, and portal opening to Minecraft Dungeons II: The Rift. It also identifies Singers as the creators of Echo Golems. These connections make the character part of the setting’s history as well as a recognizable figure at the entrance.
The story’s portal scene is cited to page 207. It explains the relationship between the song and the portal in the novel; Mielon’s mod supplies its own playable sequence below. Keeping the story and the implemented interaction distinct makes it possible to follow either without converting a passage from the novel into a vanilla crafting recipe.
Use the Singer to awaken Mielon’s portal
In Mielon’s mod, start at the center of an Ancient City with a Goat Horn. The author’s portal instructions describe eight Sonorous Deepslate blocks in front of the Reinforced Deepslate frame. Playing the horn summons the Singer, whose song awakens those blocks.
After awakening, place Note Blocks on the Sonorous Deepslate. The bases need to be in Note mode. Each Note Block cycles through eight Sift notes: right-click to select a note and left-click to play it. The required playing order is 1 → 3 → 7 → 6 → 5 → 2 → 4 → 8. The physical positions need not follow that order; the sequence you play is what matters.
A correct performance makes Sonorous Deepslate replay the melody, activates the beams, and starts opening the nearby portal. These are useful completion signals after the Singer’s initial awakening. If you have only summoned the creature, you are still before the Note Block performance. The full portal guide carries the detailed setup and troubleshooting.
Build the Soul Block supply for bartering
The mod’s Echo Golems collect Soul Blocks from Soul Canyons and normally bring them to a Singer. Bonding a golem with an Echo Shard redirects its deliveries to the player. That creates the resource chain behind a repeat visit to the Singer: obtain an Echo Shard, bond the collector, receive Soul Blocks, then decide how to spend them.
The Singer reacts happily when given a Soul Block. The version 1.1.0 notes add bartering, an associated advancement, and the rare Wellspring music disc by Echo_Dev. The release notes describe the bartering goal as helping players obtain progression items while staying in The Sift. The Wellspring disc is an item in Mielon’s project; the similarly named Wellspring mod is a separate project. Plan for multiple exchanges if the rare disc is your goal.
Blub taming uses the same resource in Mielon’s implementation. Choose whether your current outing is for a companion or for Singer exchanges before spending the supply. The Echo Golem page explains the collector and its bond.
What named persistence means in 1.1.0
The release-note line about named Singers means that a Singer with a name will not disappear. It is a persistence change, separate from adding bartering. There is no rename announcement in that line.
For a portal task, watch the awakened blocks and the melody response. For a resource task, bring Soul Blocks and follow the exchange. For lore, follow the novel and meadow references. Those three roles explain why the Singer appears in entrance guides, creature discussions, and Mielon progression routes.
