Blub in Minecraft: Official Pet vs Mod Mob

Dungeons II's Blub is a Deluxe Edition pet that does not fight. In Mielon's mod, Soul Blocks have a one-in-three taming chance, and tamed Blubs can defend their owner. Choose your game's route before gathering items or checking an entitlement.

Tame a Blub in Mielon’s mod

1. Look in overgrown biomes

The author describes Blubs as rabbit-like neutral creatures commonly found in overgrown biomes. Start there when your goal is this companion, rather than searching an unrelated resource landscape.

2. Attract it with a Soul Block

Holding a Soul Block attracts Blubs. Use that attraction to bring the interaction into a place where you can follow what happens.

3. Attempt the tame

Using a Soul Block has an author-stated one-in-three taming chance. That is a chance per attempt, not a promise that the third attempt succeeds. Bring a supply rather than assuming one block will be enough.

The Soul Blocks resource chain explains how an Echo Golem and Echo Shard connect to collecting the material.

Read its behavior and health

Once tamed, a Blub can follow, sit, and defend its owner. Decide whether you want it accompanying you before continuing into another encounter; the author describes an active companion rather than a purely decorative unlock.

Its ears droop farther backward as health falls. That gives you a visible health cue to watch during travel or combat. The checked description does not establish a specific healing item or health number here, so the ear cue should not be converted into a numerical health bar.

Get the official Dungeons II pet

For the official game, check the Deluxe content attached to your platform and account. The Dungeons II Capes & Promos article supplies the acquisition context and explicitly describes the pet as unable to fight.

Use that route for the official companion rather than collecting a mod’s taming resource. The Dungeons II guide covers the game’s broader Sift setting.

Blub questions

Why do guides disagree about fighting? They describe different implementations: an official cosmetic companion and Mielon’s tameable creature.

Does one failed tame mean I have the wrong item? Not by itself. The documented chance allows unsuccessful attempts.

What should I watch after taming? Follow/sit behavior and the changing ear position are the author’s described cues.
