What does Spectral Spear do?

Spectral Spear is the Unique version of Short Spear in Minecraft Dungeons 2. Its fixed effect is Ichor Blast: a wave deals 90% of weapon damage, with additional soul damage for a short time. Continuous jabs form a combo whose final attack deals increased damage.

The fixed effect identifies the Unique; a random effect gives individual drops another property to compare. A Short Spear and a Spectral Spear can belong to the same weapon family while offering different choices for a build. Use the weapon directory to compare other base and Unique pairs.

Keep the jab combo going

Attack again as each jab comes off cooldown to continue the sequence. The Wiki item record describes increased damage on the final hit. Watch how often you can finish the combo in the fight you are preparing for: an opening jab and a completed sequence serve different situations.

When a boss forces you to move, leave room to dodge and restart the sequence when you have an opening. Choose a property that helps the attacks you can land, rather than judging every drop by a single damage percentage. The source establishes the stronger final hit without giving a universal damage multiplier for that hit.

Fixed Ichor Blast and random effects

Ichor Blast stays on Spectral Spear when its random effect is rerolled. The 90% figure is the wave’s weapon-damage coefficient, not a 90% increase to every attack or to total damage per second.

The nine effects below are the found-or-rerolled pool in Spectral Spear revision 3811274. The community Dungeons II 1.1.2.0 item data lists the same pool and tier values. I–III describe the random-effect tiers; they do not upgrade fixed Ichor Blast.

Effect Benefit or condition I II III
Critical Edge More damage from critical hits 10% 20% 30%
Critical Hit Increased critical-hit chance 5% 10% 15%
Knockback More knockback from attacks 15% 20% 30%
Looter Chance of additional loot drops 20% 40% 60%
Pack Leader More companion damage 20% 25% 30%
Persistence More damage, based on your total missing health 10% 15% 20%
Raider Chance of higher-rarity loot drops 1% 2% 3%
Reaper More souls gained 25% 35% 45%
Sharpness More melee attack damage 10% 20% 30%

Critical Hit changes how often you crit; Critical Edge changes the damage of those critical hits. Sharpness has the broader melee-damage condition. Persistence varies with your own missing health, so its percentage is not a constant bonus throughout a fight.

Pack Leader supports companions. Reaper helps soul collection for active artifacts. Looter and Raider serve different loot goals: more drops and a chance of higher rarity. Compare those goals before choosing which property to reroll at a Blacksmith.

Where to find Spectral Spear

The community 1.1.2.0 item record lists Frozen Highlands, Howling Woods and Lullaby Hills as region drops where Short Spear can roll as Spectral Spear. This is an attributed region list, rather than a specific guaranteed chest or enemy drop.

Check the name on the item when it drops. Ordinary Short Spear does not supply the Unique’s fixed Ichor Blast. Once you find Spectral Spear, compare its power and random effect with your current weapon before deciding whether to replace or improve it.

Spectral Spear and Soul Blast

Ichor Blast and Soul Blast are different effects. Soul Blast is a melee enchantment book applied through the Enchantsmith; the nine-row table above is the Blacksmith’s random-effect pool.

The Soul Blast entry describes a jump-attack wave and additional soul damage over time. Its wave coefficients are 50%, 60% and 75% of weapon damage at tiers I–III. Those values belong to Soul Blast, not to the spear’s fixed Ichor Blast.

The checked records do not establish how the two effects combine on this particular weapon. Check the selected item and available books in the Enchantsmith menu; the absence of Soul Blast from a random-roll table does not answer book compatibility. Adding 90% and 75% would not establish a combined damage value.

Common questions

Is Spectral Spear the Unique Short Spear?

Yes. Short Spear is the base weapon, and Spectral Spear is its Unique counterpart with fixed Ichor Blast.

Can I reroll Ichor Blast?

No. Ichor Blast is fixed. A Blacksmith rerolls the weapon’s random effect while retaining that bonus.

Does the 90% wave mean 90% more DPS?

No. It describes the wave as a share of weapon damage. Total DPS also depends on the attacks, effects and timing involved.
