Start with the official game

The Sift is playable in Minecraft Dungeons II, which launched on September 29, 2026. The launch announcement lists Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. It describes an action RPG with solo play and co-op for up to four players. See Minecraft Dungeons II is live.

If your goal is to experience the official dimension, start with the game named here. If you are choosing content for an existing Minecraft installation, use current availability first; that decision determines which instructions belong to your setup.

Rifts and the Overworld

The launch story connects strange rifts with disturbances across the Overworld, including spreading sculk and altered mobs. It places the Illager High Council at the center of the conflict. Within The Sift, the announcement describes both friendly and hostile beings. Minecraft Dungeons II is live provides the story context.

Meadows and Carapace

Xbox names Meadows and Carapace among The Sift’s areas. Its September 26 overview also describes hazardous blocks and new creatures. Use those names when comparing an area description with the game on your screen. See Minecraft Dungeons II’s New Dimension Coming to Minecraft Java & Bedrock Edition.

Shifting tides

The same Xbox overview says shifting tides can affect your character and surrounding entities. It does not supply an effect schedule or numerical modifiers. When choosing a walkthrough for this mechanic, look for Dungeons II coverage and a demonstrated encounter rather than a similarly named mod tutorial.

See the biomes and areas comparison for these official names alongside community landscapes. The mob directory separates the official creatures from mod mechanics; Blub covers the Deluxe pet and Mielon’s separate tameable creature.

Choose the guide for your task

Choose your route by the game you want to play. For Dungeons II, start with its platform listing and game-specific guidance. For an existing Java or Bedrock world, check your edition first, then identify any community project by author. This keeps downloads and tutorials pointed at the same setup.
