Sculker Claws and the Wolf Claws pairing
Sculker Claws are the unique Wolf Claws in Minecraft Dungeons 2, with fixed Shadowclaw and a melee combo whose final attack deals increased damage. Their curved shape resembles the claws of a Monarch. If you searched for Sculk Claws, that older name points to the same weapon.
Compare the power and rolled property on a drop before choosing between it and Wolf Claws. The unique name identifies Shadowclaw; the random property is another part of the item. Two copies can support different goals through that roll while retaining the same fixed effect.
The weapon directory lists the wider base and unique pairings. This page follows the Sculker Claws item record for its attack behavior and compatible pool.
Keep the attack combo going
Swing the claws at nearby enemies, then continue attacking as each swing comes off cooldown. Consecutive attacks form a combo, and the final attack deals increased damage. A single opening swing therefore tells you less about the weapon than the complete sequence.
Watch how often an encounter lets you finish that sequence. When a boss forces a retreat, leave space to dodge rather than staying in range just to reach the last hit. Against a target that remains within reach, keep the rhythm going. The item entry establishes the stronger final attack without specifying a hit count or damage multiplier.
A larger critical-damage roll and an easier-to-finish combo answer different questions. First check the attack pattern you can maintain; then compare the property helping those attacks. Finesse, for example, adds a jumping or rolling condition, while Sharpness addresses melee damage directly.
Fixed Shadowclaw versus rerolled effects
Shadowclaw stays on Sculker Claws when you reroll the random effect. Its enchantment entry describes entering Shadowcloaking while attacking. The item record names it as the claws’ fixed enchantment.
| Name | What it means here |
|---|---|
| Shadowclaw | Fixed on Sculker Claws; its entry describes Shadowcloaking while attacking |
| Shadowcloak | A separate melee enchantment: defeating an enemy has a chance to grant Shadowcloaking |
| Shadowcloaking | The positive status: invisibility to mobs and a critical next attack; an attack or artifact use ends it |
Shadowcloak’s kill-trigger chances are 15%, 20% and 35% at tiers I–III. Those values belong to Shadowcloak, rather than the similarly named fixed effect on the claws. Read the enchantment comparison for the library effect and the status guide for the resulting state.
A level-3 Blacksmith can replace a chosen random effect on unique gear using Echo Shards. The first reroll costs one shard, increasing with further rerolls up to twenty. Choose the property you want to replace and check the cost before confirming. Power upgrades use Emeralds; they are a separate decision from changing the roll.
Compare the twelve compatible effects
These are the twelve effects listed for found or rerolled Sculker Claws. I–III are the random-effect tiers; they do not upgrade Shadowclaw. Unique gear has one random effect alongside its fixed bonus, so the rows are alternative rolls to compare.
| Effect | Condition or benefit | I | II | III |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bounty Hunter | More damage to wounded enemies | 20% | 25% | 30% |
| Critical Edge | More damage from critical hits | 10% | 20% | 30% |
| Critical Hit | Increased critical-hit chance | 5% | 10% | 15% |
| Finesse | More attack damage when jumping or rolling | 15% | 25% | 35% |
| Knockback | More knockback from attacks | 15% | 20% | 30% |
| Looter | Chance of additional loot drops | 20% | 40% | 60% |
| Pack Leader | More companion damage | 20% | 25% | 30% |
| Persistence | Damage increase based on the stated percentage of your own total missing health | 10% | 15% | 20% |
| Raider | Chance of higher-rarity loot drops | 1% | 2% | 3% |
| Reaper | More souls gained | 25% | 35% | 45% |
| Sharpness | More melee attack damage | 10% | 20% | 30% |
| Strength | More damage from melee critical hits | 15% | 20% | 25% |
Bounty Hunter needs an already wounded enemy. Sharpness has a broader melee condition. Persistence uses your own total missing health, so its percentage describes a changing condition rather than a constant bonus throughout a fight.
Critical Hit affects how often criticals occur; Critical Edge and Strength affect their damage, with Strength explicitly specifying melee criticals. Compare the event each property changes. A critical-damage percentage does not represent an equal increase to every attack.
Match the weapon to your Sift loadout
Choose the roll around a problem in your current equipment. Finesse suits a comparison centered on jump or roll attacks. Pack Leader supports companions instead of increasing the claws’ own damage. Knockback changes how far attacks move targets, which matters when you need room to continue or retreat.
For resource collection, Reaper increases soul gains for active artifacts. Looter offers additional drops; Raider offers a chance of higher rarity. These properties serve different collection goals, so choose between them by what you need from the next run.
Compare the claws with your armor and artifact cycle in the Sift build guide. The Sculker and Monarch armor comparison gives another equipment route for the same creature theme, while the Sculkers guide identifies the family. The weapon’s Monarch appearance is a design link, not a documented Monarch drop location.
Common questions
Can I reroll Shadowclaw on Sculker Claws?
No. Shadowclaw is fixed. A Blacksmith changes the weapon’s random effect while retaining that bonus.
Are Shadowclaw and Shadowcloak the same enchantment?
No. Shadowclaw is fixed on these claws and describes Shadowcloaking while attacking. Shadowcloak is a separate melee enchantment triggered by defeating enemies.
