Decide about future Anvil combinations first
Charoite gives eligible Enchanting Table results an extra level in Mielon’s The Sift, with an additional 20 levels required and a lasting Anvil restriction. Before using it on valued equipment, decide whether you want to combine that item with another item later. Charoite-enchanted equipment can still be renamed, but the author says it cannot later be combined with another item in an Anvil.
This enchanting material belongs to Mielon’s mod. Charoite in Blue Skies is a separate implementation, and its crafting or equipment rules do not describe this page’s material.
Read the offer before enchanting
| Part of the operation | Mielon’s stated rule | Your decision |
|---|---|---|
| Table material | Charoite replaces Lapis Lazuli | Select the material for this operation |
| Required XP | The requirement increases by 20 levels | Check the displayed requirement against your level |
| Eligible rolled enchantment | An enchantment that normally exceeds level I gets one additional level | Read the preview rather than assuming every enchantment changes |
| Preview | Shows the increased level | Compare the visible offer before spending |
| Later Anvil use | Combining with another item is unavailable; renaming works | Settle the item’s future upgrade route now |
The XP statement is an increase to the required level, as described by the author. It does not establish a separate claim that the table consumes twenty additional levels. Read the operation’s actual cost display in your installed release.
Eligibility also matters. The rule is about enchantments that can normally have levels beyond I; it does not promise a level boost for every possible enchantment. The preview is the practical checkpoint for the result being offered.
Find the material through the correct resource branch
The author lists Siftslate Charoite Ore among the dimension’s ores and Charoite among possible abandoned-portal loot. These are two documented source contexts: mining the named ore family and inspecting structure loot. Neither comes with a verified best Y level in the checked description.
Use the Siftslate guide to distinguish the ore family from the dimension’s ordinary stone and building blocks. If you choose a structure trip, keep Charoite separate from a Siftite template objective: an abandoned portal can be relevant to both, but they serve different equipment decisions.
Mielon also directs players to the mod’s advancements for item and mechanic explanations. Use the advancement information in your installed release when identifying a collected material or following its next step.
Bring enchanting material back from the ore
The published 1.1.2 Fabric 26.2 package distinguishes the ore block from the Charoite item in its ore loot table. Silk Touch selects the Siftslate Charoite Ore block; the ordinary resource branch selects Charoite and applies the Fortune bonus rule.
That difference matters for the collection task. If you are bringing home the ore as a block, you have chosen a different output from the material used at the Enchanting Table. Check the returned item name before ending the mining trip. The package also defines a base item-count range, but it is not a measured yield for every tool, explosion or modpack condition.
Choose between an immediate result and later flexibility
A good Charoite candidate is an item whose desired Enchanting Table result already fits your plan. Examine the preview, check that your experience meets the requirement, and consider the later restriction together. The higher enchantment level is only one part of the decision.
If you intend to assemble the item’s enchantments through later Anvil combinations, the documented restriction affects that plan. Set the item aside while choosing its route instead of applying Charoite first and checking the Anvil afterward. Renaming remains a separate operation.
For a material trip, collect for the enchanting decision you have actually made. A building trip belongs to Overgrown Willow or the stone family; a Netherite equipment upgrade belongs to Siftite. Return to the Mielon project hub if you need to match your release before following these mechanics.
Source and version
The enchanting rules and material sources follow Mielon’s current author description, checked October 2, 2026. The current Modrinth release records include 1.1.2 for Fabric 26.2/26.3 and NeoForge 1.21.1, and 1.1.1 for Forge 1.20.1. The mining distinction above is scoped to the linked Fabric 26.2 package; the enchanting behavior follows the author description.
