Minecraft Dungeons 2 secret talismans unlock Mosstrosity when you have collected the eight prerequisite items. The reward for beating that secret boss is Wonderful Wheat, bringing the secret collection to nine. Your route crosses the Overworld and The Sift, so check the item names before returning to a dungeon you have already searched.
Which eight talismans unlock Mosstrosity?
The eight prerequisites are Amethyst Lens, Emerald of Good Fortune, Glowstone Flask, Lucky Clover, Medallion of Momentum, Ocelot’s Paw, Soul Chip, and Thrifty Pendant. Wonderful Wheat comes after the fight.
Collecting and equipping serve different jobs here. The boss entrance checks the collection; your combat loadout still has the usual three talisman slots. Keep the bonuses you want equipped while you finish collecting the others. The general talisman guide explains those slots and how talisman levels develop.
If you have seven of the eight, compare names rather than counting every talisman you own. Ordinary quest rewards such as Twisted Tooth and Golem Kit are useful equipment, but they do not replace one of these prerequisites. Check that a reward you have worked toward has actually reached your inventory before marking it complete. Finding the chest’s region or finishing part of a quest is still a step on the route to collecting the item.
A higher-level copy remains the same prerequisite. Level III Emerald of Good Fortune advances its equipped bonus, while a missing level I Soul Chip still leaves the secret collection unfinished. Use the name for the unlock checklist and the level for your build choice.
Secret talisman locations: Overworld and The Sift
Use this list to choose your next region or activity. A named region points to its secret chest; dungeon and rift entries identify the kind of run you need.
| Secret talisman | Where to look or what to complete | What it adds to your loadout |
|---|---|---|
| Amethyst Lens | Wiki: The Prime Enchanted Revived reward; James: Howling Woods secret chest. Both records are linked below. | Ranged damage |
| Emerald of Good Fortune | Secret chest in Lullaby Hills, The Sift | Chance of extra Emeralds |
| Glowstone Flask | Secret chest in an Overworld dungeon | Shorter potion cooldown |
| Lucky Clover | Secret chest in Frozen Highlands, Overworld | Chance of additional loot |
| Medallion of Momentum | Secret chest in Humbler Huskland, The Sift; see the Carapace region guide | Higher movement speed after moving continuously for more than three seconds |
| Ocelot’s Paw | Secret chest in a rift | Jump-attack damage |
| Soul Chip | Secret chest in a Sift dungeon | Soul capacity |
| Thrifty Pendant | Secret chest in Rainy Plains, Overworld | Damage tied to your Emerald holdings |
Published sources give two acquisition routes for Amethyst Lens. The Wiki talisman table, revision 3815676, lists a reward from The Prime Enchanted Revived. James’s October 1 walkthrough places it in a Howling Woods secret chest, north of Little Howl Hamlet and west of the Hidden Grove minecart station. The community Steam-build database lists both acquisition entries. Check your inventory and active quest’s reward before choosing a route; the boss unlock requires the item in your collection.
For a Sift collection trip, start by checking Emerald of Good Fortune and Medallion of Momentum in your inventory. Those two lead to named surface regions. Soul Chip calls for a Sift dungeon instead, so a surface sweep of the same hills will not complete that part of the list.
In the Overworld, check the Frozen Highlands and Rainy Plains chest items before choosing another dungeon run for Glowstone Flask. Ocelot’s Paw belongs to a rift, while Amethyst Lens has the two source leads described above. Use the activity column to choose the next trip for your missing item.
The Mosstrosity unlock checklist
- Compare your collection against all eight names in the table.
- Follow the missing item’s region, quest, dungeon or rift route.
- Once the eight prerequisites are collected, travel to Howling Woods in the Overworld.
- Enter the unlocked Lush Caves secret dungeon and follow the route to Mosstrosity.
- Defeat the boss, then open its reward chest to collect Wonderful Wheat.
The Mosstrosity guide covers the entrance and encounter. If the entrance is still blocked, check the eight-item list first. A high talisman level or a stronger weapon does not replace a missing prerequisite.
Once the path opens, switch attention from collecting to fighting: choose the three passive bonuses that fit your weapons and artifacts. You can carry the collected secrets without dedicating every available slot to a collector’s loadout.
Wonderful Wheat is the ninth reward
Wonderful Wheat summons a llama companion and comes from Mosstrosity. It finishes the chain that the first eight unlock. Looking for Wonderful Wheat before entering the secret dungeon sends you back around the same loop: complete the prerequisites, fight the boss, then claim the companion talisman.
Afterward, review your build and decide whether the llama earns one of your three slots. Secret status identifies its place in the collection; the equipped effect determines what it does for your next fight.
Secret talisman questions
Are there eight or nine secret talismans?
There are eight prerequisites for Mosstrosity and a ninth secret talisman, Wonderful Wheat, awarded after defeating it.
Do all secret talismans come from The Sift?
The collection spans Sift and Overworld regions, dungeons and rifts. For Amethyst Lens, the table gives both the Wiki quest-reward record and James’s Howling Woods chest route.
Do I need to equip all eight?
Up to three talismans can be equipped at once. The Mosstrosity condition is collecting the eight prerequisites.
