Identify the Sift boss

Sculk Monstrosity is a large, golem-like boss fought in The Sift. Its size does not mean every action is slow: the current Wiki describes rapid movement and soul-flame attacks that can ignite heroes and companions.

This is a different enemy from the Twisted Warden, Copper Monstrosity, and the final Monstrous Opus. For the named encounters and locations, use the boss directory.

Read its attacks

These observations come from Sculk Monstrosity revision 3813980, checked October 2, 2026.

Attack Recorded motion and consequence
Arm swings A wide right-arm swing followed by the left arm
Sweep Twists backward, then sweeps the left arm across nearby targets with knockback
Charge Reels back, rushes shoulder-first while covered in soul flames, then follows with a burning fist
Summoning Opens its arms and roars, releasing souls and summoning Sculk Cubes
Catalysis Green flame at the palms accompanies catalysts and spreading veins on the arena floor

The charge includes a follow-up

At range, the boss reels back before charging. The record describes it slowing after about two seconds, then igniting its right arm and swinging the burning fist at nearby mobs. Targets hit by that swing are damaged and soul-burned.

The practical response is to plan where you stand after avoiding the shoulder charge. Moving immediately back beside the boss can put you in the follow-up swing. Watch the arm rather than treating the end of forward movement as the end of the whole attack.

This is movement advice derived from the recorded sequence. It does not assert a tested roll direction, invulnerability timing, or damage rotation.

Watch the arena as well as the boss

The summoned Sculk Cubes roll toward heroes. They add another moving threat while the Monstrosity remains active, so keep track of the path around you rather than watching only the boss’s health bar.

During catalysis, catalysts emerge and spread sculk veins in web-like patterns nearby. This changes the ground you are using to move through the fight. Identify clear space before the next rush, especially if a nearby Ichor pool limits your retreat.

The source explains the spreading effect without assigning a damage-per-second figure to every vein or a guaranteed safe distance. Use the visible hazard in your current encounter.

Prepare for a return attempt

Review the resource demands of your artifacts before starting. In The Sift, Endure Tide stops passive soul regeneration, which can affect how often you can use a soul-powered option. A different tide and a different build are separate reasons an attempt may feel different.

For recovery after defeat, use death and respawn. For item choices, compare weapons and enchantments. Return to the Dungeons II overview for the dimension and its environments.

The article describes documented attack patterns. It does not turn an incomplete reward record into a guaranteed unique drop or assign a universal health total to every version of the boss.
