Identify the ordinary Dartback

Dartback is a large, six-legged Sifter mini-boss encountered in Dungeons II’s Sift. The Sifter index supplies that physical distinction, while the Dartback record gives its encounter context. Wellspring Miniboss is a development codename.

Separate the quest goal from the enemies guarding it

Lost Harmonies: Find the stolen soul blocks gives the encounter its progression context. The isolated Ichor arena gives it a visual setting. Together they distinguish the regular Dartback encounter from an unrelated large Sifter seen elsewhere. If the objective still names those Soul Blocks, keep following that objective through the arena instead of treating the development name Wellspring Miniboss as a separate location to find.

Soul Blocks also appear in Echo Golem lore and in Mielon’s mod resource chain, but the Dartback objective belongs to Dungeons II. A mod guide telling you to bond a golem with an Echo Shard is not the instruction for completing this quest.

Read the summoned enemies as a second layer

The documented summon brings two Stalkers and two Scavengers into the encounter. Stalkers provide close-range claw attacks, spins, and forward dashes. Scavengers throw tracking souls that explode into pools of soul fire and can retreat when approached. Their actions give the encounter threats beyond the mini-boss’s own body.

As a practical observation sequence, identify the new enemies when they appear, separate the forward-moving Stalkers from the retreating casters, and keep track of the soul-fire pools after impact. These cues help explain why pressure can come from several directions even while Dartback remains the main objective.

The Dartback gallery includes the arena, a close-up, a raised-body pose, dart firing, and a dash. Those images are useful for matching a creature seen during Lost Harmonies. Match the raised-body, dart-firing, and dashing poses to the action you are seeing.

The creature’s six-legged form separates it from the huge tentacled Harmonizer. Both belong in the Sifter mini-boss discussion, but Harmonizer’s documented roar, support beams, and grab form a different encounter pattern.

For the separately named variant, use Soul Corrupted Dartback. For this regular encounter, the quest wording, Ichor arena, and four summoned Sculkers are the strongest linked clues. Follow the active objective after the fight and use the creature guides to identify any supporting enemies you still need to distinguish.
